A break from the ballads for some wandering piano nonsense, which we hope to be bringing to festivals next year.

Gaskell’s COUNTRY GARDEN CLASSICS is what happens when Julian Gaskell & his Ragged Trousered Philanthropists take their piano for a stroll around the back garden. Classic ballads, indie, post-punk, folk tales, bangers, baroque and whatever else we deem classic for any given occasion, played in what we call the ‘country garden’ style around the piano. What you see in this film is us performing in the cliffs out at the back of our mansion on the North coast of Cornwall – all recorded ‘live’ on location, songs include the Kate Bush classic ‘Running up that Hill’, Rick Astley’s Morrisey Disco classic ‘This Charming Man’, Monti’s classic classic Czardas, the classic sorrowful lament that is ‘Titanic’, a bit of ‘Well done’ by IDLES and the coast path classic ‘Didn’t (s)he Ramble?’ AVAILABLE FOR BOOKING IN 2024, and as you can see from the video we can perform anywhere, we have no need for electricty, lighting or roofing – if you want some of this for your garden party, festival or funeral contact us by email or socials.
